The Group...
Random Harmony was founded in November of 2000 by Shaun Whisler, current bass, and Michael Brown, current baritone. Since that time, the group has gone through 5 different members before settling into the current lineup in May 2001. In November of 2001, Random Harmony was invited to sing for the English premiere of Kurt Weill's Seven Deadly Sins in Corpus Christi, Texas. After working with Random Harmony, Maestro Richard Rosenberg was quoted saying, "They are among the finest in the nation...truly a first rate ensemble." The group has performed at many local venues as well as the Kansas State Fair, several barbershop afterglows, and several KU affiliated events such as the annual Vespers program. Random Harmony competed in their first barbershop contest in April 2002 finishing 5th at the Central States District convention making them the 32nd best collegiate quartet in the nation. The group placed 2nd at the 2003 CSD convention and qualifed for their first Internationals by improving their score 102 points. RH finished 19th in Montreal in July of 2003 and are hoping to not only win the CSD in 2004, but place in the top 10 at internationals in Louisville.
